Video Presentation Requirements
You are almost done! Hopefully you are feeling confident about your new abilities to identify key signatures and getting excited about creating your movie! The most important thing to remember is to be creative, but make the information simple. If a non-musician wanted to learn this skill would they be able to view your video and understand how to identify key signatures? If you can answer yes to this question after completing your video not only will your video surely be amazing, but you should feel great knowing you mastered this skill all by yourself!
Just like any assignment there are a few requirements for your video. If you use the rubric below and are able to answer yes to all the questions then you will be well on your way to producing an awesome and informative presentation. In the video you must explain the process of identifying key signatures in music. You must demonstrate the skill using a piece of choral music and walk the viewer through each step in the process. If you need a camera and do not have access to one at home you can create your video at school with the use of school owned Flip Cameras. If this is the case, you must tell Mrs. Koehler in advance so she has one for you to use. You can use any movie creation software you have access to, you are not limited to using a video recorder, but you must include all of the following in your video:

- The song you use in your video must have at least two key signatures.
- You must select a song that is appropriate for your voice range.
- You must locate the key signature and circle it.
- Describe what a key signature looks like and include the terms flat and sharp.
- Locate the key signature in the middle of the piece of music and circle it.
- Remind your viewers that key signatures are located at the beginning of a piece of music, but that key changes can occur anywhere throughout in the piece.
- Make sure to identify how many flats or sharps are in the key signature and what happens when neither flats or sharps can be found.
- Explain what key the music is in when there are no flats or sharps.
- State the order of flats and a mnemonics that would help your viewer remember the information.
- Explain how the order of flats is used and what makes a key signature with one flat unique.
- State the order of sharps and a mnemonics that would help your viewer remember the information.
- Explain how the order of sharps is used.
- Demonstrate the process of identifying the key signature with the music you selected and walk us through the process once again.
